This Friday, 6 October, Paramore will release an “almost remix” album to accompany their February album This Is Why. The sister release, Re: This Is Why, contains some songs that have been remixed in the classic fashion, while others have been completely reworked.

“We’ve long wanted to recognise the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence,” the band wrote on Twitter this morning (3 October). “Re: This Is Why is almost a remix album. Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten. It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding.”

In an Instagram post, vocalist Hayley Williams posted the image inspiration behind the garish yet commanding album cover for Re: This Is Why and wrote, “The original cover for This Is Why was a take on a Marlene Dumas painting. It didn’t get clearance the first time around so we went with a different image. grateful to her for allowing us to use this, now.

According to fans on Twitter and Reddit, some of the speculated artists to appear on Re: This Is Why include Australian tour opener Remi Wolf, The xx’s Romy, Julien Baker, Foals, The Linda Lindas, and more. The rumours began after a fan account on Twitter posted teaser videos from the band’s Discord server to social media.

Fans also began theorising about the B-Side demo arriving on Re: This Is Why, claiming that it could come from the After Laughter recording sessions based on this Paper Magazine op-ed written by Williams in May 2018.
