Sydney hip hop outfit True Vibenation’s newest studio release, On, showcases the group’s capacity for expert production while simultaneously alluding to the improvised excitement they have become known for through their live performances. The album opens with an intriguing two-song punch, Intro and Question Mark Music, both of which feature fast-paced, instrumentally focused build-ups to Crazy But.... The group favours a traditional Australian hip hop sound in Whisper In My Ear and gravitate toward its electronic preferences later in the record with Back In The Day. The tone of the record changes at every turn, making it both mysterious and accomplished.
