"Panoramic views of a dusky Sydney Harbour are not the only reason to make sure you grab tickets for their next one."

More Roland Tings More Roland Tings

Kicking off were the Future Classic DJs, who warmed up the eclectic crowd on top of the MCA on Sunday evening. This event — one of six in a series — is all about immersion in contemporary art and music. Curated by the Future Classic label, the Sunday summer sessions aim to replicate similar collaborations between contemporary art galleries and music in places like New York, Berlin and Barcelona. The sculpture terrace at the MCA is an amazing venue, with world class views, contemporary architecture and art surrounding you; the music is just the cherry on top.

Roland Tings is well known for his smooth AF house stylings, and his DJ set at the FCxMCA Sunday summer session was no exception. Bringing chill vibes and laidback beats to the Sculpture Terrace, it was the perfect soundtrack to a Sydney city sunset.

Next up was one of Melbourne's best exports in house, Tornado Wallace. Smoothly transitioning from Tings to Tornado was one of the night's accomplishments, and needless to say the sound set up was top-notch. Echoing and washing over Sydney Harbour, the mellow tunes and dancey house beats were interspersed with samples. As always, Future Classic delivered with a mix of acts that brought out the best of their genres.

The most pervasive vibe of the night was chill; people were there to kick back, relax on the roof and get the most out of the weekend's last light before heading back to Monday's grind. With this soundtrack though (and more events to come in the new year) panoramic views of a dusky Sydney Harbour are not the only reason to make sure you grab tickets for their next one.
