Thornhill are hitting the road again this October, playing in theatres and club venues across the country with special guests Holding Absence coming all the way from the UK, Thousand Below from the US, and Bloom opening all dates.

The Prom Queen City tour has been named “the biggest and best shows Thornhill has ever put together,” and it’s difficult to argue against that with those support acts joining the Aussie rockers.

Kicking off the Prom Queen City tour on Friday, 20 October, at the Forum in Melbourne, the four-band metalcore bill then heads to Perth’s Magnet House the following night, Adelaide’s Uni Bar the night after, Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday, 26 October, before wrapping up at Sydney’s Liberty Hall with the one all-ages gig of the tour on Saturday, 28 October.

You can sign up here for the Early Bird pre-sale – those tickets go on sale on Wednesday, 28 June, at 5 pm AEST. General sale tickets go on sale on Friday, 30 June, at noon AEST via Destroy All Lines.

Thornhill had an absolutely dominant 2022 off the back of their ARIA-nominated album Heroine, which Kill Your Stereo described as “a masterful and bold move”.

Reviewer Ollie Midson said: “This record is a breath of fresh air for the Australian heavy music scene and will no doubt catapult them to superstardom."

They smashed it on Like A Version last April, performing the Muse (and Twilight) classic Supermassive Black Hole and their hit Casanova, and also rocked Good Things Festival in December.

Last month, Holding Absence announced that their new album, The Noble Art Of Self Destruction, will be released on Friday, 25 August, via Sharptone Records.

“After an insanely busy and fulfilling album cycle for our second record, last October, we spent a month in Jukasa Studios Canada, to record more new music,” the band said in a statement. “This record - the third in a trilogy - is by far our most conceptually rich and expansive body of work to date." The album was recorded with Dan Weller, known for his work with Enter Shikari and Bury Tomorrow.

You can pre-order The Noble Art Of Self Destruction here.

Last year, Holding Absence joined fellow Sharptone/Greyscale label mates in Aussies Alpha Wolf on a thrilling split EP release, The Lost And The LongingThe collaboration also allowed the Welshmen to mine their heaviest depths to date.
