UPDATE: Due out on Monday 15 August on Greyscale Records / Sharptone Records, fans can grab a sneak peek at what's to come on The Lost and the Longing, with Holding Absence also today releasing a brand new single, Aching Longing Feat. Alpha Wolf from the forthcoming EP - and it's Holding Absence going full beast-mode in 2022.

"We can't wait for people to hear our two new singles Aching Longing, and Coffin too!" enthuses Holding Absence. "Aching Longing is our band at its heaviest yet, and Coffin is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. We are always trying to stretch our band into new shapes, and can't wait for people to hear what we've produced with these two tracks!"

With both Holding Absence and Alpha Wolf previously tantalising fans with hints of a team-up via some cryptic recent Twitter posts, the Sharptone Records labelmates have cemented their heavy union with today's split EP announcement; a fact that will not only appease heavy fans across the globe, but one that also has the Holding Absence team entirely delighted.

"We're ecstatic to be announcing The Lost and the Longing, our split EP with Alpha Wolf!" Holding Absence share. "Alpha Wolf are a band we've loved as people and musicians for years now, and we're so grateful they wanted to drop this release with us."

Alpha Wolf will embark on their Metalcore Snitches tour alongside Fit For A King (USA), Great American Ghost (USA) and Paledusk (JPN), kicks off this Thursday 9 June in Perth, while Holding Absence can be caught live in action this weekend at Download Festival in the UK, before heading off on a European tour.

Original Speculation:

Both tweets are below. Both bands are on Sharptone Records, so this really isn't a massive leap to jump to the conclusion that this is very much imminent, it just remains to be seen just how many tracks we are getting from the two HEAVY AF bands. Here's hoping its more than just one track each!
