Newcastle alt-metal outfit The Beautiful Monument have gained the ultimate support slot, being announced as the opener for Evanescence on their upcoming Fallen 20th anniversary Australian tour. For fans of both bands, it’s officially the perfect tour.

“We’re not crying, you’re crying,” The Beautiful Monument wrote on social media this morning (18 August).

“We are stoked to announce we will be supporting Evanescence this month for the 20th Anniversary of ‘Fallen’ Tour!”

Sharing a new tour poster that shows the Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth dates with sold-out stickers over them, the local legends also informed fans that limited tickets are still available in Sydney and Melbourne (not for long, though). You can find tickets via Destroy All Lines.

Evanescence announced their August and September Fallen Australian tour earlier this year, marking the American rockers’ first visit down under since their tour with local symphony orchestras in 2018.

Hitting the Top 10 charts in multiple countries upon its release, including Australia and a #1 in the UK, Fallen sold 10 million copies in the US alone, with over 17 million copies sold worldwide and officially reaching diamond certification in late 2022. You can find the tour dates celebrating Evanescence’s spectacular 2003 debut album below.

In June, The Beautiful Monument dropped their latest banger, Misery. A scorching metalcore number, the band’s ferocious frontwoman, Lizi Blanco, said this about the single: “Misery is a theme song for those who are completely oblivious to their one-sided relationships.

“It is the painful reality of a profound sense of loneliness that an individual begins experiencing when their ‘perfect relationship’ begins to crumble and their metaphorical see-saw starts tipping.”

Misery is The Beautiful Monument’s second new track for 2023, following the release of the comeback single Hellbound back in February. That one marked their first offering in a truly cooked four years, following up on their second album, I’m The Reaper (the “sequel” to 2017’s I’m The Sin) which arrived in June of 2019.

Now the question remains: when will we hear album number three? Could 2023 be the year? We hope so.
