Paramore Cancel US Tour Dates As Hayley Williams Battles Lung Infection

Paramore will no longer perform the final two shows on their US tour – in Portland and Salt Lake City – as Hayley Williams continues to battle a lung infection.
After soldiering through the last week of gigs, including their show in Seattle, where Williams was accompanied by her doctor, it’s gotten to the point where if she keeps up the schedule without treatment and rest, she will face long-term damage to her health.
Posting to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night after the band’s Seattle concert, Williams announced that the band had to cancel the last two scheduled gigs, which would’ve taken place on Thursday, 10 August, in Portland, and Sunday, 13 August, in Salt Lake City.
“Hey everybody, we just got off stage in Seattle. After speaking with our team and my doc, I know that trying to finish this tour is now going to come at a detriment to my health,” Williams wrote. “My lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up. It got a little scary tonight.”
She continued, “We are going to have to cancel the last 2 shows of the tour so I can get better finally. I know some of you are camping in Portland already, so I just wanted to get this out there.
“I'm so sorry for all the chaos this has caused some of you. I really tried to kick this shit. Love you all.”

Williams added in a separate post to the band’s social media accounts, “After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we're unfortunately realizing that it's past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you.
“I'm now risking long term damage and I need to pay attention to my body,” she admitted. "I physically can not go on.”

Paramore will tour Australia and New Zealand this November. Due to overwhelming demand, they announced additional shows in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Paramore’s This Is Why Australian tour dates begin at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday, 18 November, followed by Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 22 and (new show) Thursday, 23 November, Sydney’s Domain on Saturday, 25 November, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday 27 and (new show) Tuesday 28 November.
