La Dispute Celebrate 'Rooms Of The House' Anniversary With One-Off Aus Show

American post-hardcore band La Dispute will celebrate the tenth anniversary of their third album, Rooms Of The House, with a string of anniversary shows – including a one-off concert in Australia.
Rooms Of The House was released in March 2014 via the band’s label, Better Living. It was written in a cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The band then recorded the album in Philadelphia with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Balance & Composure, Code Orange).
In an album review for The Music, Benny Doyle described Rooms Of The House as “homely” and “intelligent”, writing:
Every sound you hear is deliberate, and the flow of the record makes more sense with every listen. Rooms Of The House is an album that you'll keep coming back to, even if you're not quite sure why; there's just something homely here, something that you can relate to, which is why this incredible post-hardcore statement rings so true.
La Dispute will perform for just five nights globally to celebrate Rooms Of The House's tenth anniversary. The Australian show takes place on Friday, 22 November, at Sydney’s Roundhouse.

La Dispute's performance in Sydney (and stops in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Grand Rapids—the latter the city in which they formed) is significant, as drummer Brad Vander Lugt lives in Australia. His wife is Australian, and in 2018 interviews, he revealed that he moved to the Sunshine Coast and is a permanent resident.
The band announced the special shows on Instagram yesterday (18 March), informing fans that the concerts would happen in five places that mean a lot to them.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be any other Rooms Of The House anniversary shows, with the band reasoning: “partly because we’re writing, partly because we didn’t want to do two anniversary runs back to back, and partly because there’s something special about limiting it.”
