More Drain More Drain

Californian hardcore outfit Drain visited Australia in January as the support band for hardcore legends Comeback Kid, and now it looks like they couldn’t get enough of touring here following their Australian debut.

Drain will return to Australia this December – any chance of being added to the Good Things line-up? – for a run of shows that begin in Perth on 8 December, followed by stops in Adelaide, Melbourne, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast and Brisbane. They’ll be joined by American band Anxious, making their Australian debut. You can find all the dates below.

Drain will tour down under in support of their latest album, the excellent Living Proof. “DRAIN’S GOING BACK DOWN UNDER,” vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro exclaimed in a press release. “No Maxibon or Iced Long Black is safe!”

Tickets for Drain’s headline tour go on sale on Thursday, 7 September, at 10 am local time. However, the Destroy All Lines pre-sale begins on Wednesday, 6 September, at 11 am AEST. You can find tickets here.

Living Proof was released in early May via Epitaph Records.

The album was produced by longtime friend and multi-instrumentalist Taylor Young (God’s Hate, Suicide Silence) and mixed by John Markson (Drug Church, Koyo). Living Proof promises to be relatable and catchy, inviting listeners to the most memorable party they could imagine.

“I hope with this record that when someone hears it, it gives them hope,” Ciaramitaro said in a press release. “This is the soundtrack of perseverance and people overcoming the naysayers in their world and inside themselves. I can’t wait to play these songs and hear a room full of people singing back to us. We’re what the title says, the Living Proof.

Since forming in 2014, the band have released two EPs and one full-length record before Living ProofOver Thinking (2016), Time Enough at Last (2017), and their debut album California Cursed (2020). Drain signed with Epitaph in 2021.
