More Comeback Kid More Comeback Kid

By January 2023, it will be three long years since Comeback Kid graced our shores with their brand of modern hardcore music.

The Canadian legends will be supported by the Santa Cruz band Drain, who are coming to Australia for the first time.

Comeback Kid released their seventh album, Heavy Steps, earlier this year via Nuclear Blast; Drain have signed with Epitaph Records and will put out the follow-up to their 2020 debut album, California Cursed, sometime next year. Listen to Heavy Steps here.

In the spirit of traditional hardcore shows, there will be no barriers at any of the dates. This tour will be frenzied and packed with anticipation from the get-go.

Comeback Kid and Drain begin their Australian tour in Brisbane on Thursday, 19 January, at The Brightside before travelling down the east coast to Newcastle, Sydney, Penrith, Canberra, and Melbourne. The bands will also stop at Adelaide's Jive Bar on Friday, 27 January, and finish the tour at Perth's Amplifier Bar on Saturday, 28 January.

Comeback Kid are one of the most consistent hardcore bands of a generation. The group broke into the mainstream in 2005 with their career-defining second album, Wake The Dead. The album's title track became a hit and featured on the video game soundtracks of Burnout Revenge and Burnout Legends. It was the final record to feature their original singer, Scott Wade - Andrew Neufeld joined the band following Wade's departure and has remained with them ever since.

"Australia, we're excited to be returning to your shores in January," Neufeld shared in a press release.

"3 years after our New Year's 2020 Aussie shows, we finally have the opportunity to come overseas and bring one of HC's most exciting bands, DRAIN, with us for their first time ever down under! I've been assured that barricades won't be in play, and we are expecting to pop off '23 with a bang and usher in a new year for the Australian punk and hardcore scene. See you all soon!"

The tour pre-sale begins tomorrow, Tuesday, 22 November, at 5 pm local time. The general sale starts on Thursday, 24 November, at 10 am local time - head to Destroy All Lines for more information.
