More AC/DC More AC/DC

It looks like AC/DC are planning to tour Europe in 2024, and a German mayor couldn’t keep the news under wraps.

As Planet Radio reports, Dieter Reiter, the mayor of Munich, let slip in a recent interview that the iconic rockers had a date locked at the city’s Olympic Stadium on 12 June 2024.

Reiter reportedly shared the details at a council meeting and then told a reporter: “I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret.”

If AC/DC do return to Europe next year, it’ll be the first time audiences have seen the band with singer Brian Johnson since July 2015.

Last month, speculation arose of the band’s first tour in Australia since 2015 after Cherry Bar owner James Young posted this on Facebook after they headlined Power Trip festival in California:

A little birdy told me last night that AC/DC will 100% be touring Australia in 2024, and this Set List that they recently played at Power Trip Festival in California will be the precise set list we get.

If you want blood, you got it!

Now we all just need to pray that we get Melbourne-born drummer Phil Rudd back in the band for this Tour.

In addition to Young’s post, the Twitter account Oz Concert News posted, “It'd be cool if AC/DC toured next year.”

This is an account with connections within the music industry; posting a teaser the night before the Iron Maiden tour was announced last month is just one instance of the individual having correct intel on upcoming concerts hitting Australia.

Brian Johnson, guitarist Angus Young, bassist Cliff Williams, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, and drummer Matt Laugstepping in for Phil Rudd, took to the stage at Power Trip festival last month after Judas Priest performed a career-spanning set.

AC/DC’s set marked the first time they’d opened with If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) while sharing the debut performances from 2020’s Power Up album (Shot In The Dark and Demon Fire). The band mainly focused on the classics, though, ripping through Back In Black, Highway To Hell, Hell’s Bells, Thunderstruck, You Shook Me All Night Long, Whole Lotta Rosie, and many more.

The inaugural Power Trip festival is a meeting for heavy metal heroes in Indio, California. AC/DC were joined by Judas Priest (who replaced Ozzy Osbourne, who was forced to pull out due to health issues), Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Tool.
