Cat Woods

Cat Woods is a Melbourne-based freelance journalist with over 17 years' experience writing for print and digital press. Her work has appeared in New York Times, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Australian Financial Review, Channel Void, Guitar Magazine, and various others. Raised on Rolling Stones and Tina Turner by her father, and a Carly Simon, Bob Dylan and Beethoven-loving mother, she discovered Madonna and Janet Jackson in her pre-teens, establishing a deep love of pop and dance. Then, she became immersed in the ‘90s rave scene, followed by goth clubs, electroclash and Britpop nostalgia, and now adds country, in all its varieties, to the long, long list of genres she loves.
