Yacht Club DJs had Hobart under their spell at Republic Bar on the weekend.

More Yacht Club DJs More Yacht Club DJs

It is with great sadness that Yacht Club DJs’ final tour is underway.

The duo of Gaz Harrison and Guy Chappell from Victoria have been performing their unique mix of old and new songs around the country for the last few years, delighting fans with their onstage antics and awesome atmosphere. They’ve decided to start the final run of shows down in Tasmania, with two shows on Halloween weekend.  Indie-pop group Chase City opened the show, and quickly brought people to the dancefloor.  Definitely impressive.

Enter Yacht Club DJs, performing a mix of both their recent mixtape Hooroo!, and some old classics, the crowd were quickly under their spell, and having a great time.  As the end slowly approached, things got wilder, with a few stage-dives, some that worked, one that didn't, and a piñata that nobody was sure actually contained anything, but was smashed anyway.  Things were hitting fever pitch with it nearly time for the show to end, and to send off such a great band, the tempo was turned down a notch in a rather fitting end to an enjoyable evening.
