"Wild Nothing's third album is a warm and natural reminiscence on what it is to know someone."

More Wild Nothing More Wild Nothing

Virginian singer Jack Tatum said during interviews that he wanted this record to sound less mechanical, but perhaps what's most striking about Life Of Pause is the songwriting, even more so than the dreamy aesthetic he drapes it in.

Wild Nothing's third album is a warm and natural reminiscence on what it is to know someone, as Tatum sings lines like, "There's no answer to the question," and "We are dust above the earth, witnessing our birth." At its best moments, the record seamlessly merges these existential mediations with transcendental beauty, as the Disintegration-era synthesisers of Lady Blue transform into a concluding bridge that sounds just like heaven.
