"There's something completely fresh about Vallis Alps' arty, ambient tunes."

More Vallis Alps More Vallis Alps

Even though Vallis Alps are only 50% Australian, our wonderful nation sends 100% love the pop duo's way. Ever since they independently released their EP into the amateur music jungle that is SoundCloud, the music world has been picking up everything they've been putting down. Vallis Alps even managed to crack an incredible number 27 ranking in 2015's triple j Hottest 100, following it up with a solid #94 in last year's list.

Their recent national tour stopped off at Adelaide's freshest venue Fat Controller for a cosy Friday night show, which sold out quick-sticks. Bringing smooth rapper Baro along for the ride proved to be a solid choice as he set the mood to hype with his jazzy tunes. Although the night was young, those in attendance no doubt enjoyed Baro's performance.

There's something completely fresh about Vallis Alps' arty, ambient tunes. They took to the stage and opened with favourites from their latest EP Fable before smoothly transitioning into Reprieve, which triggered a slew of singalongs.

Triple j favourite Young kicked in soon after a brief instrumental, catching the crowd off-guard and building a feeling of excitement as they sang and danced along. And this vibe continued through to their last track Fading - a perfect song to end their set with its catchy hooks and tropical house-styled melodies.

Following Vallis Alps' set, Fat Controller's own All You Can Eat DJs kicked the dancefloor up a notch with Odesza, What So Not and some crowd favourites as the crowd continued to have a good time.
