This is country by numbers, pushing the right buttons on a proven formula.

That’s not to say Collins isn’t talented as there are some well-constructed songs on this release. Sing ‘Cos I Love To is a better example of where the song best reflects his talents. Also there’s no reason a song like Curves couldn’t hit the American country music charts. Collins has chosen some good songs to cover and like Adam Brand he goes for the mainstream jugular. On Love Is A Lesson he gets Brand to duet with him and they’re quite similar in style.
