"Likewise, he too often appears out of touch as he presents pointlessly offensive remarks as cheeky mischief making."

Tommy Tiernan's Out Of The Whirlwind tour celebrates his 20th year as a stand-up. His solid fan base, including a hefty proportion of expat Irish, pack out Hamer Hall.

He displays his wealth of experience as he fills the auditorium with his manic energy. The first half of the show is strongest as he recounts both simple and fantastical tales with his trademark lyricism and wit. However, the second half loses momentum when he falls into unoriginal takes on conventional material: the differences between men and women, erectile dysfunction, etc. Likewise, he too often appears out of touch as he presents pointlessly offensive remarks as cheeky mischief making.
