"Harmlessness is an absolutely stunning follow-up effort, and an easy contender for one of the albums of the year."

A palpable air of maturity permeates the songs of Harmlessness, the second full-length from US emo-revival pioneers The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die.

Returned member Tyler Bussey brings much to the group's vocal performances, the wavering, adenoidal strains of 2013's Whenever, If Ever, replaced with more assured melodies and deliveries. Instrumentally, TWIABP haven't strayed from their penchant for effects-heavy, dynamic post-rock, while nonetheless asserting themselves as intelligent songwriters just as capable of layered, lush soundscapes as they are of affecting minimalism. Harmlessness is an absolutely stunning follow-up effort, and an easy contender for one of the albums of the year.
