"Despite sounding amazing, many tracks meander along and don't find that extra gear."

Sydney psych-rock trio The Walking Who have done some serious hard yards coming up with second album Lewiside.

Recording everywhere from Iceland to suburban garages, the band have done a sterling job in not only ensuring the album has a consistent sound, but that it's a seriously big one, packed full of epic and vast soundscapes. However, despite sounding amazing, many tracks meander along and don't find that extra gear to make them truly memorable. Instrumental opener Apolloduction is classy and reverb-drenched while Speakin' Ma Language and Royal Debris have some nice melodies. This still feels like a step towards something seriously good.
