The Ultimate Vegas Show

"While performing, a fan approached him and asked for a kiss – leaning down into the audience our Elvis impersonator made the older lady’s night mid-song."

Tell ten people you’re going to see a show centred around Vegas showgirls, and all ten of them will share the same idea of the classically beautiful women, smiling wide smiles and dancing around the stage. They were all wearing very little, but of course no one forgot her crown of feathers, or her tail of feather boas. They make it look so easy – surely that’s a hard-won part of their skill set.

Producer and co-star Michael Boyd didn’t disappoint in terms of the amount of glitter, rhinestones and feathers, nor the acts that rounded out the variety show. There were covers of Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Amii Stewart and of course Elvis. Happily for those of us who were loving all the cheesiness and campness of the performance, all of Elvis’ songs were performed by a fabulous impersonator clad in a white jumpsuit. While performing, a fan approached him and asked for a kiss – leaning down into the audience our Elvis impersonator made the older lady’s night mid-song.

When music wasn’t playing and beautiful women weren’t dancing, the audience were treated to another wonderful act. Boyd, also a magician, and his gorgeous and incredibly flexible assistant Lizzy Kirby took the stage a number of times throughout the evening. Their illusions were seamless and the crowd loved them.

After the show, the Vegas showgirls were hard at work promoting The Ultimate Vegas Show, still in their costumes. Even so, their smiles never left their faces, not even for an instant – these girls are 100 per cent professional and it’s not hard to see how they made it this far.
