Live Review: Stu Larsen, Bryan Dalton, Tim Nelson

Before long he was belting out his cover of Coldplay’s Fix You (apologies to Coldplay fans – but Larsen’s version is better) capping off the night perfectly.

More Stu Larsen More Stu Larsen

Kicking off the night was none other than the leader of The Infidels himself, the laidback Tim Nelson. With lyrics like “I'll be the Dad with the coolest stories,” and a 'fro that would make Guy Sebastian green with envy, Nelson not only got the wheels turning, but started the night with a massive burn-out.

Bryan Dalton ambled on stage like the true Irishman he is; with a pint of Guinness. As part of his set he got the audience involved in a cover of Bruce Springsteen's Drive All Night, urging them to beat the Ellington Orchestra from the night before. The crowd's timing was impeccable, hitting each chorus together.

Stu Larsen took to the stage and fired off Seaforth Mackenzie. In fact, the first couple songs of his set felt a bit like he'd just time warped his set from the most recent tour with Passenger to the stage a Mojos. The next cab off the rank was Ferry To Dublin, Larsen shared that this was about a girl he'd met in Europe, but when he sang it on tour with Passenger he said it sounded to the audience at the time that he like in love with Passenger. Before long he was belting out his cover of Coldplay's Fix You (apologies to Coldplay fans – but Larsen's version is better) capping off the night perfectly.
