"A departure from The Cat Empire and a positive step forward for Angus."

More Harry James Angus More Harry James Angus

Best known as the trumpet player and occasional vocalist for The Cat Empire, Harry James Angus has taken a side-step from his day job with the release of the Struggle With Glory:  I Saw Red EP.

Leaning heavily on gospel and jazz, the four-track release is as much a time machine to a previous generation as it is a landmark solo release.

While it is theatrical at times through songs such as I Saw Red and Struggle With Glory, it's opener Kill The Priest that's the high-point with its big band sound. It's a departure from The Cat Empire and a positive step forward for Angus.
