"This’ll be one of the best of the year."

More Statues More Statues

One of the most prolific and theatrical bands in Perth, Statues’ debut album brings their chaotic energy to disc in masterful fashion, Jayme Van Keulen’s vocals shining through – Always Building, Always Breaking offering some of the most intense and direct screaming ever heard.

Yet amidst the chaos there’s acoustic gospel (I Want Peace) and even a track comprised entirely of Americana-style guitar slide (Hope Is). With wonderfully blatant guitar crunches and cymbal crashes, though the clarity shouldn’t work with such a frenzied record, be glad it does. This’ll be one of the best of the year.
