Album Review: Sikth - The Future In Whose Eyes?

If Meshuggah is the buoyant 'djent' movement's grandfather and Periphery is its embodiment, Sikth is its direct source; its idiosyncratic wellspring.

After over a decade since their last LP, these Brits have roared back into consciousness with their third studio album. The Future In Whose Eyes? is everything you'd expect from a Sikth album, and then some. It is bone-crunchingly heavy and wildly progressive, but in a sick, warped and twisted way. Its discordant riffs, off-kilter grooves and unhinged, schizoid vocals mess with your head — but in the most enjoyable manner possible.

Sikth, it is so very very good to have you back. The Future In Whose Eyes? is a depraved masterpiece.
