The Bob Marley of metal is back, and this time Max Cavalera has enlisted the drumming talents of his very own progeny, Zyon, for latest Soulfly effort, Savages. Cannibal Holocaust contains flashes of early Sepultura thrash brilliance, while Fallen is a battering ram of riffs and features I Declare War's Jamie Hanks on death growls. Guest spots also include Mitch Harris of Napalm Death and Clutch's Neil Fallon. Produced once again by the lauded Terry Date, there's enough going on musically to keep the initiated sated and the newcomer entertained, while the perpetually frustrated continue waiting for a Sepultura reunion.
