"Not likely to considered alongside their finest, but a welcome return nonetheless."

More Ride More Ride

Following on from My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, Ride complete the holy trifecta of shoegaze comebacks with their first album in 21 years.

Producer Erol Alkan subtly adds a smattering of the electronic elements he's renowned for, but otherwise Weather Diaries remains loyal to the spirit of the band we know. Weather Diaries boasts a handful of pop gems like All I Want and the revitalising Charm Assault, but elsewhere the songwriting becomes a tad clunky at times. Not likely to considered alongside their finest, but a welcome return nonetheless.
