Rainy Day Women provided a very suitable local aspect to the closure of what has been an absolutely amazing exhibition.

The Abbey and Foster elements of Perth jazz trio Abbey/Foster/Falle (along with a guest drummer) provided the jazz backdrop to this, the Last Hurrah! Closing Party of the AGWA Friday Nights series. Jazzy versions of My Favourite Things and Placebo's Every You Every Me and some original work from their upcoming album Brotherhood entertained event goers as they perused famous artworks from Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock. The room was full of creative influence and those in need of an artistic outlet could contribute with their own face, creating their own Warhol pop-art with the aid of VJ Zoo's Live Screen Tests.

Dave Callan provided the comedic interlude and earned himself a wave of giggles in an otherwise silent and serious space. His set culminated in a highly entertaining dance to All The Single Ladies that got the attention of any remaining crowd members otherwise distracted by some of the more serious artworks on display.

WAM Song Of The Year-winners Rainy Day Women closed the night, opting for a more sombre setlist than usual considering the gallery setting. It has been a very successful 12 months for this Fremantle foursome that saw them build a large fanbase across Perth, and Friday night was no exception as their version of Stand By Me awarded them complete attention and applause. They also played their latest single, Runaway, and their award winning, Sleigh Bed.

Every Friday for the Picasso To Warhol exhibition, the gallery was transformed into a musical space, hosting a series of live music performances suiting both art and music enthusiasts, providing the opportunity for patrons to view the paintings after dark and in a more intimate setting. The second season was in partnership with the West Australian Music Industry (WAM), who enabled a large range of successful local performers to play at the gallery and Rainy Day Women provided a very suitable local aspect to the closure of what has been an absolutely amazing exhibition.
