Album Review: Queensryche - Condition Human

"A crisper production, as well as deft minor-key touches and time changes boost predominantly mid-paced, occasionally pedestrian affairs."

More Queensryche More Queensryche

Vocalist Geoff Tate's public ousting seemingly galvanised the remainder of these melodic metal mainstays. However, the brevity of 2013's solid, if unremarkable self-titled album was likely attributable to rushing attempts to beat Tate's alternate incarnation to the punch.

Sound-a-like wailer Todd La Torre returns for a second LP that's true to their core spirit, but a little short on true knockout hooks. Grandiose Bulletproof's worthy of their peak, and anthemic Guardian channels 1986's staple Rage For Order. A crisper production, as well as deft minor-key touches and time changes boost predominantly mid-paced, occasionally pedestrian affairs. Your best bet? Catch them live for the classics.
