Peta And The Whale

"You don't need to be a kid to love this one. We want to go again!"

Childish giggles slip from lips as projections and puppets fill the stage.

"Is that puppet man real!" a little voice gasps from the audience, unaware that she has captured the mood in the entire room: glee. She is referring to Franciscus Henri, the half-man-half-puppet playing Grandpa to the marionette, and main character, Peta. And, boy, are the two of them entertaining! In fact, everything about this show — the puppetry, the presentation and characterisation of the sea, the lighting, the singing — is exciting. Mesmerising. Magical. You don't need to be a kid to love this one. We want to go again!
