"Yet another success from a band who deserve far more exposure than they currently receive."

More Overkill More Overkill

The thrash gods are hilarious. Who would have thought that one of the most consistent and long-lived acts of the genre would turn out to be fuckin' Overkill – a band who at best were considered second-tier back in the halcyon days of the late 1980s.

The Wings Of War is the band’s 19th album and is chock-full of anthemic thrash anthems with huge choruses (Believe In The Fight), rapid-fire rhythms and catchy, straightforward melodies (Welcome To The Garden State) that remind us just how much this band owe to a certain hardcore scene just across the Hudson River.

With the venerable Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth in the finest vocal form of his life, this is yet another success from a band who deserve far more exposure than they currently receive.
