Album Review: nyck - Alive

Alive is an EP stripped back to the basics to elevate the vocals of Nick Acquroff and Dom Garrard, the duo known as nyck; however, this can be a drawback at times when tracks seem under-produced and overly raw.

Resident has roughly a minute of miscellaneous audio tacked onto the end from the recording session. Additions like this might be interesting at first but become tedious for a return listener. That being said, The Summer Inside begins with a conversation between one of the artists and their grandmother in hospital that is beautifully insightful. Some risks paid off, others fell flat, but the pair have made a commendable attempt at creating something unique.
