Nelly and B.o.B gave outstanding performances in Perth, but Lupe Fiasco was a disappointment.

More Nelly More Nelly

Lupe Fiasco opened the show with Kick Push and Kanye West’s Touch The Sky. Before launching into Deliver, he let the general admission crowd into the VIP section to fill up the space.

This sent the crowd into excitement but also left the VIPs furious, one audience member yelling out, “I paid $180 for this, while they paid much less! This is not fair.”

Disappointment didn’t end there. With Lupe’s performance, doubts were raised as to if he was actually rapping, as he was not in time with the backing tracks and at times was just dancing around on stage without singing. He finished his set with a rendition of Battle Scars and The Show Goes On. Security quickly cleared everyone wearing purple wristbands out of the VIP section, giving VIPs their breathing space back.

B.o.B launched straight into Magic and Strange Clouds, bringing a new energy into the stadium.

“Apparently Perth has the most beautiful girls in Australia? Is that true, ladies?” he questioned, sending the audience into a frenzy before he got into Nothin’ On You and Both Of Us. He gave the audience a taste of his new song, Not For Long, before getting into favourites Price Tag, So Good and Airplanes. Between singing, crowdsurfing and throwing free shirts, he took a few selfies for Instagram, even stealing an audience member’s selfie stick and recording a video of the crowd before handing it back. He delivered a brilliant performance, leaving the crowd energised and ready to party.

Nelly started with a rendition of Party People, followed by E.I. and Batter Up. The energy in the stadium was infectious as Nelly went through a decade’s worth of songs in a tightly packed set.

Those who bought seats were standing and dancing the whole time. Six lucky ladies were pulled from the crowd to join Nelly on stage. Things got a little hot and steamy during Body On Me, while he serenaded the other ladies with Over And Over and Dilemma. He ended the set by thanking everyone for sticking with him throughout the years before launching into Just A Dream. Nelly gave an outstanding performance, keeping the crowd stimulated the whole set.
