This CD grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go until the very end.

More My Dying Bride More My Dying Bride

My Dying Bride have been around for the better part of two decades,  and have rarely missed a step in releasing memorable and haunting albums since their conception.

There are many reasons to love this album.  For Lies I Sire is probably the most depressing and darkest stuff they have released in the past ten years. While listening to "For Lies I Sire" you will become transfixed on the pain and agony that are contained within the lyrics and guided through them with the haunting array of melody  the band pull off so well...haunting is a word often used to describe My Dying Bride, they capture this feeling so well though its hard to ignore.

The best part of this album is that the band has seemingly found a great balance between the violin and the guitars, it's done in such a way that no instrument is overlooked or becomes the focal point of the entire cd...The violins making a comeback on this album is a huge thumbs up from me as it really portrays something for this band that the keyboards can't quite nail, adds that extra bit of elegance to the dark imagery the music and lyrics transmit.

Do i think that this is My Dying Brides' best album to date? Not quite, but its very much up there...Do i think you should buy this album? Definately, if you're a fan of My Dying Bride you will not be dissapointed in the slightest, however, if you're new to this band, i reccomend checking out their older stuff so you can really appreciate the progression over time.

For The Lies I Sire is as haunting as past My Dying Bride albums and has left me wondering and wanting more, for a band that has been around for so long, they have managed to stay true to a sound they helpd pioneer without becoming stale, and for that i applaud them.
