"The flying banjos and fiddles are reminiscent of John Butler Trio."

More Mustered Courage More Mustered Courage

There's not much on the local scene that can compare to the sound Mustered Courage are producing.

Sure, bands like Mumford & Sons are flying the 'folk-rock' flag internationally, but there's something much more earnest about the sound this Melbourne quintet make. The flying banjos and fiddles are reminiscent of John Butler Trio, but lead singer Nick Keeling's voice is so country — "Made my fair share of mistakes and I'll make one for the road right now" (A Thousand Bullets) — it seems inevitable that this band has a huge international career ahead of them.
