Ex-triple j morning presenter Matt Okine wandered on stage and shared stories of walking into a casino to avoid getting "robbed". He talked about playing into racial stereotypes, running into the local supermarket to buy a half-chicken every day, and getting picked on by his father for going bald — like the tyres of his car.

Okine's style of comedy is so relaxed and colloquial it makes the audience immediately feel at ease. The casual, often rant-like banter that rolls out of his mouth comes quite easily for the 32-year-old when he's not experimenting with different rhythms and paces on stage. He does have a tendency to ramble sometimes and digress into other stories mid-anecdote - but what he might lack in consistency he almost makes up for in dance moves. Okine busted out on stage with the same steps used in a dance battle with a dude on a night out in Brisbane - a clear audience highlight of the show.

He's clearly a skilled and talented entertainer, whose narratives would benefit from just a bit of polishing around the edges.
