More Lord More Lord

This EP’s run-time outstrips many bands’ full–lengths, but these Wollongong/Sydney metallers aren’t fond of half–measures.

Yet even they stretch boundaries with the deeply-layered, bombastic title track, its 25–minute, orchestral–flavoured narrative boasting actors and straddling trad–metal, pop and melodic death/thrash. Not an entry point for the uninitiated, perhaps. Breadth of influence is also apparent in maintaining previous incarnation Dungeon’s penchant for covers. Metal purists will embrace anticipated choices a la Helloween, but an idiosyncratic take on The Police’s Message In A Bottle (surpassing Machine Head’s own heavier rendition) further project LORD’s engaging personality.
