"It’s impossible not to love."

More Blues Pills More Blues Pills

Spawned in 2011, American-Swedish-French quartet Blues Pills swing into their fresh brand of bluesy psych-rock with the swagger and rawness of yesteryear, the eponymously-titled album transporting you back to an era when rock’n’roll was raunchier and deliciously soulful.

Elin Larsson’s stirring wails are spine-shiveringly good and slink flawlessly through the hefty grooving riffs, while Black Smoke and Astralplane will knock you into a visceral mud-stomping rhythm (and may even earn you a token pair of sweaty flares). The album flows from sensuous ballads to hypnotic jamming with raucous joy and energy. It’s impossible not to love.
