Favourite Thing is a must listen.

Kristy Coote's debut album Favourite Thing mixes country and pop-rock into a composed, lyrically strong set.

Coote's unique voice is simultaneously passionate and sweet-sounding. The swaying, relaxed sound of the title track contrasts strikingly with other tracks such as Superpower. There's a certain rocky lullaby feel to Pretending that enhances the singer-songwriter's enchanting voice. With the anthemic energy of Carrie Underwood, and the clear influence of artists like Alanis Morissette, the album expresses a range of different tones and moods while keeping true to Coote's rootsy pop. Packed with a variety of Australian talents like Clive Young and Anthony Snape, Favourite Thing is a must listen.
