The House Of Dior has come to NGV to celebrate 70 years of haute couture and for sure, it seems they have managed to fit the whole house in. The gallery has been transformed, taking on the feel of an elegant mansion with towering staircases, glistening chandeliers and long grand hallways filled left and right with some of Christian Dior's most iconic looks.

Tonight, we are also celebrating the iconic Kate Miller-Heidke. From the first hello she is a huge presence on stage. It doesn't take long for her to draw the crowd from the bar to the stage floor. "I bought this dress, from the op shop, specially," Miller-Heidke confesses, and the bright red gown echoes the night's ode to high fashion effortlessly. Miller-Heidke's unparalleled voice fills the grand hall and for the synthy and upbeat Lose My Shit punters ditch their bottles of wine and get up to dance. Caught In The Crowd is the first well-known hit, and afterwards there's a huge roar of appreciation.

The intimate setting provides the perfect backdrop for such a chilled gig, and everyone has settled into a smooth swaying when Miller-Heidke shares some new music with us; "No one has ever actually heard this before." Unsurprisingly, she soars on the highest of notes, bringing new levels of raw honesty to her sound. And it's a feeling not lost on us; the room goes somewhat silent in awe. The next one is a sultrier, bluesy track, ("If you got the fuck off/ and get me the fuck off.")

She closes the night with Words. Despite her guitarist fumbling and restarting the track mid-way through, it finishes on a high and the applause continues well after the lights come up.
