"[I]f people don’t fuck with it, they can catch the next train."

More Kaiit More Kaiit

Mojo's is a small venue, but the fact that it was almost packed by the time Your Girl Pho’s set began is a testament to her following. Backed by two saxophones, highlights from her set included a performance of her single Sinister and a cover of Jorja Smith and Preditah’s On My Mind.

After a short break between sets, Grievous Bodily Calm took the stage. The five-piece band kept the audience bopping along to their unique blend of beat music. Crowd reaction to the instrumental set was interesting, without lyrics to get absorbed in it forced their bodies to move. Josiah Padmanabham was a major standout on synths. He rushed between instruments with so much energy you could get dizzy just watching him (in the best possible way)!

Kaiit's devoted audience recited every lyric back to her from the moment she began singing. With co-signs from the likes of industry heavyweights Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, she's one of a kind.

Opening with her set with 2000 N Somethin, her voice was flawless from the get-go. Backed by JAYDEAN on vocals and Josh 'Angry' Albert on drums (who were both amazing in their own rights), the young singer powered her way through crowd favourites including Natural Woman and OG Luv Kush, Pt 2 during her one-hour set. Her audience were even treated to a few unreleased tracks, including a melodic tune she called 'Lil' Mama Theme Song' (which she hinted may be her next single).

Taking the time to engage with her audience - speaking on topics such as self-esteem, self-worth and self-love - the singer exclaimed at one point that she has been focused on self-reflection, stating that she’s "staying true to herself" and that "if people don’t fuck with it, they can catch the next train".

Kaiit was extremely relatable and highly personable. She engaged with her audience in a way that made us feel like you had known her your whole life. Closing her set with an encore performance of OG Luv Kush, Pt 2 kept Kaiit’s audience happy, but staying after the show to take photos and chat with fans made their entire night.
