Album Review: Iluka - Blue My Soul

Inspired by her worldly travels, Blue My Soul, the latest indie-pop release from Sydney's Iluka is a purposeful, soulful EP with a retro, nostalgic vibe and pop sensibility.

It opens with definite standout Blue Jean Baby, which has a carefree, youthful spirit, catchy hook and all the characteristics of a summer anthem. Iluka then demonstrates her strong knack for songwriting and soaring, powerful vocals on the title track before slowing it down with intimate, piano ballad The Fools and acoustic guitar-carried In The Heat.

Blue My Soul is an authentic, refined and polished EP that leaves you wanting more.
