'Chop Chop' and his guests exceed expectations, and in parts the show at the Athenaeum is so quick-witted and hilarious that it's tear-inducing. The crowd indeed learns to buckle the fuck up and realise there's a bit of 'fuck yeah' in most things in life.

Chopper's first guest, Harley Breen, is a Bundaberg boy, which makes it easy for him to take the piss out of Melbourne hipsters – drinking “lattes full of their own self- importance” and cleaning their beards with other peoples' beards. His Aussie boy-next-door attitude is a winner. The second guest, Adrienne Truscott, doesn't go down so well. Her rape jokes, taken from her show Asking For It…, from this year's Comedy Festival, don't work out of context, and the crowd is awkwardly quiet.

But when Chopper is back on stage, talking about “some ginger cunt standing in the middle of the desert with a melanoma popping out of his head”, the audience is quickly back on side. The last guest, Dave Callan, does an excellent Kiwi accent and ends with his Beyoncé Single Ladies dance. His diva facial expressions and perfectly choreographed moves are absolutely brilliant.
