Album Review: Go Violets - Heart Slice

Simple yet seductive, these tracks are loose and lo-fi but that’s half their charm. Tons of potential.

These Brisbane gals have caused a stir on the live front, and now they're bringing that appeal to the recorded realm with debut six-track Heart Slice. Opener Teenager brings a sunny summer disposition, Josie is old-school slacker indie reminiscent of Juliana Hatfield, followed by the laidback-yet-accomplished Beside Me and the infectious pop of Crazy. New single Wanted is a cruisy lovelorn number with hooks galore, while upbeat closer Runner is as catchy as they come. Simple yet seductive, these tracks are loose and lo-fi but that's half their charm. Tons of potential.
