"The Perth punk-rockers explore familiar territory on their second EP with its references to suburbia and loneliness."

Let the suburbs be my resting place,” Flowermouth’s frontman Cameron Murphy sings on the title track Urethane.

The Perth punk-rockers explore familiar territory on their second EP with its references to suburbia and loneliness. Opener Pearl Road eases into some kick-arse guitar work and chugging bass. Urethane is the highlight of the five tracks with its memorable hooks and punchy riffs while Deepest Sleep is a moody, drawn-out jam. On Nervous Breakdown, Murphy’s vocals reach an incomprehensible growl alongside frenzied guitars. But this burst of punk feels messy compared to the control exerted over Urethane.
