Album Review: Eluveitie - Origins

No self-respecting modern metalhead could deny the album’s ferocious beauty, nor its intensity.

More Eluveitie More Eluveitie

For fans of the folk-metal pioneers, Eluveitie’s Origins is business as usual; gorgeous, authentic Celtic melodies wrapped in a crunchy melodic death metal package.

Although in the past the band may have veered too far into the metal territory to really capitalise on their unique sound, they have spared no expense in ensuring the new album takes the listener on a headbanging journey through Helvetian history and the West’s pagan roots. You could take or leave the spoken word interludes, but no self-respecting modern metalhead could deny the album’s ferocious beauty, nor its intensity.
