Eli Matthewson: Faith

"Matthewson's show was funny at times while at others difficult to relate to."

While the posters may promise a show of devout Christianity and youthful optimism, Faith is really about Eli Matthewson's experiences growing up gay in a religious household.

From praying for the characters of Harry Potter, to singing Arky Arky with his family, Matthewson reflects on how to find faith outside of religion, and how he might pass on the childhood lessons he learnt to his own children — minus all the Jesus stuff.

Sporting a narrative that is not entirely accessible for those whose experiences differ from his, Matthewson's show was funny at times while at others difficult to relate to.
