"It's the way they effortlessly switch from swashbuckling to poignant that truly defines them."

Opener Fukushima Blues kicks off with a collage of news reports before morphing into a snarling, bucking beast of a track.

Never predictable, Dirt River Radio follow this up with country knees-up The Ballad Of Jackie Flavours then the album's tender title track. Alex Raunjak's relatable lyrics will make listeners suspect they share mutual friends with this gutter poet and standout track The Cocksucking Blues is a dirgy, back-alley lament of mistaken (blowjob) identity. The Dirties are obviously beasts on their respective instruments (and The Dirtettes on BVs add sassy texture), but it's the way they effortlessly switch from swashbuckling to poignant that truly defines them.
