"A bloody wild show from start to finish!"

More Deez Nuts More Deez Nuts

After the release of Binge & Purgatory last year, Melbourne hardcore outfit Deez Nuts have hit the road again for their Deez Nuts Does Australia tour. With the long weekend coming to an end, what better way was there to celebrate our beloved Queen’s birthday than to hit up Crowbar in Brisbane and party with Deez Nuts?

After a few minutes of, ‘Stay true!’ being chanted among the crowd, it didn’t take long for Deez Nuts to set up shop and dive straight into their set. Opening with crowd favourites Binge, What’s Good and Stay True, the night is off to a very strong start as fans scream and fight their way to the front of the stage.

To someone that has never seen the band before, there would be no denying their lack of ‘sophistication’, yet they are so full of energy and bleed fun. There is not a moment where frontman JJ Peters is not interacting with the crowd and maintaining the levels of hype throughout the entirety of the set.

Powering though with Commas & Zeros, Popular Demand and Shot After Shot, there are no signs of things slowing down. With the atmosphere still at an all-time high, the intro to I Hustle Everyday begins; a typical call and response track that allows the band to jump in and out whenever as the lyrics are being screamed from gig-goers left, right and centre.

Ending the night with a birthday shout out and a strong finish, the set closes with 2010 track Your Mother Should've Swallowed You, which leaves the crowd in an absolute frenzy with its hard-hitting lyrics. When it comes to hardcore bands, Deez Nuts definitely have a way of standing out with their band-of-brothers-like attitude and the strictly party vibe that is felt from the very beginning of their set. A bloody wild show from start to finish!
