"One of their strongest records thus far."

More Circa Survive More Circa Survive

The prog-rockers present a pretty diverse set on their fifth studio record.

Schema wastes no time building up with soaring guitar melodies and an effort-equalling vocal delivery from Anthony Green, before Always Begin eases the tempo, drawing the focus in on a more intricate melody. Nesting Dolls is a somewhat eerie and haunting experience, spreading over six minutes with reverb-saturated vocals and delicate guitars, while the nine-minute final and title track takes on a commanding, continuous bass strum and drum beat, the vocals easing out the album in a post-rock whisper. One of their strongest records thus far.
