Boxed In

"Bogged down by an uncomfortably explicit script that burns any emotional bridges that arise by adhering slavishly to its message."

Boxed In is touted as a critique of corrupted media, a dystopia where the 24-hour news cycle reigns supreme.

Bogged down by an uncomfortably explicit script that burns any emotional bridges that arise by adhering slavishly to its message, Boxed In adds to the enormous pile of media-is-crushing-our-humanity art that is becoming more of a non-statement each time someone tells us to 'look up from our screens'. Boxed In is certainly well-performed, but suffers thematically and most certainly in its writing, which quashes any mystery the beguiling description creates.
